Affiliation is when a site adds a link on the majority of its pages to another site, and that other site does the same for the first site. This way, hits can be exchanged. Usually, only the best sites are allowed to affiliate with certain sites, and, depending on what the webmaster feels is required to affiliate, some sites are accepted, and some are declined. Now that we're opening our affiliation to sites, we're setting minimum requirements. Upon review of the requirements and terms, if you would like to affiliate with us, please go to the Contact Page and e-mail us with the subjects "Affiliation" and "Request." Not all sites that apply are guaranteed affiliation, so, depending on what we think, your site may or may not be accepted for any reason whatsoever.
Requirements
Your site's main theme has to do with Harvest Moon or a Harvest Moon game.
Your site must have at least one of the Harvest Moon games' information within your site.
Your site must be scripted in pure HTML. Sites hosted on Geocities, Homestead, and the like which use a pagebuilder will not be accepted.
Your site must get at least ten hits per day. You must also be able to prove this with counters and/or statistics.
Your site must be updated at least once per month. You must also be able to prove this.
Your site must have a 31x88 button.
Terms
We will place your button under the affiliates section on our navigation bar (/www/ssi-bin/navig.txt). Your button will be displayed on over 80% of the pages on our site.
You must place either one of our 88x31 buttons or one of our 468x60 banners leading to our site on at minimum 80% of your site's pages. Once we see that our button or banner is properly displayed on 80% of your site's pages, we will post your link on our site.
If at any time, your site's main theme changes from Harvest Moon or a Harvest Moon game to any other non-Harvest Moon related theme, affiliation will be terminated. If your site is found not to have one of our buttons or banners on 80% of your site's pages, affiliation will be terminated.
Banner Exchange
Most of the banner exchanges you see on sites are scripts that take the ratio of viewings to hits of all listed sites, picks a site depending on the ratios, and displays a link and image on a page, recording that viewing. These exchanges are generally done in some form of CGI. Unfortunately, we can't do the same, because we do not have the skills as it is, and we won't do the same, or try to do the same, because this is not a large scale banner exchange. The exchange is, however, hosted on our server, so you can bet there is no way to cheat, and the exchange is scripted in JavaScript, which is a semi-decent substitute for the real thing. It will work just like any other banner exchange, except for the ratios. We're not counting your hits, and we're not counting how many times your banner is viewed. All sites that are in the banner exchange have a perfectly equal chance of getting viewed; the script generates a link and it's corresponding image completely randomly.
